Premier League quiz: questions and answers

Which club in this quiz is the oldest?

Aston Villa, founded in 1874. Ten clubs in the quiz have a founding year checked against Wikidata.

Does the quiz depend on this season’s table?

No. Every question is about history that cannot change: founding years, finals that were played and players’ past clubs. Nothing depends on the current table, a current squad or who is in the league this season.

Why is there no founding year for some clubs?

A year is only used when our source and Wikidata agree on it. Manchester City, for example, is dated 1880 in one source and 1894 in Wikidata, so it is left out.

Is there a daily football quiz?

Yes. The Football Quiz has ten new multiple-choice questions every day at midnight UTC, on player careers, finals, the Ballon d’Or and club history, with every answer explained. It is free and needs no account.
