Tips for Football Tenable
- Bank the famous names first. Ninety seconds goes fast. Type the answers you are sure of, then dig for the rest.
- A surname is enough on player lists. Type “Henry” instead of “Thierry Henry” when only one player on the list has that surname.
- Wrong guesses are free. A miss costs no time or lives, so type every name that comes to mind.

Football Tenable questions
Why is it called Tenable?
The name comes from Tenable, the ITV quiz show in which players try to name every item on a top-ten list. Extra Time’s Football Tenable is an independent football game and is not connected to the show.
Where can I see past Football Tenable answers?
On the Football Tenable answers page, which lists every past daily list with all the answers that counted. Today’s list is not shown there, so it cannot spoil the game.
What is football tenable?
A football top-ten quiz: one category, ten correct answers, and 90 seconds to name as many as you can. Also called footy tenable.
What kind of categories appear?
Two kinds. Settled football history, such as Ballon d’Or winners of a decade or the host cities of a Euro, and career lists from Wikidata, such as players who played for both of two clubs. Career lists often have more than ten right answers; any ten count.
How long do I get?
90 seconds. The timer bar runs down as you play and the clock is shown in the panel.
Are accents required?
No. Matching ignores accents, case and punctuation.
When does the puzzle change?
At midnight UTC — one puzzle per game per day, the same for everyone.
Where does the data come from?
Player puzzles use real club careers from Wikidata, the open database behind Wikipedia (public domain, CC0). Every clue is a career fact — a club a player has played for at any point, or the country he represented — so a transfer never makes an answer wrong. List puzzles use settled football history. Every puzzle is checked before it is published.
